Room 9 News~ September 25

Fall is in the air. We are awaiting the beautiful color changes outside and experiencing the cooling temperatures, especially at morning recess. It's time to dig those jackets out and start wearing them to school again. Students usually shed their jackets later in the day on the playground, so please make sure their name is on the label so they don't end up in the lost and found. We are already building quite a collection of unclaimed jackets in the lost and found.

Thank you to those who attended our 2nd Grade Curriculum Night. We had a great turnout! If you were unable to attend, I sent the information packet home with your child. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the packet.

Last week was our first official week of homework. We had a 92% Home/School Folder return rate. Almost everyone remembered to bring their folder back to school every day. Way to go! We had our first Friday Surprise to celebrate students' homework efforts. Everyone got to participate in this first Friday Surprise to get an idea of how sweet it is.
If a student uses an Oops! on their reading log, they will still get to participate in the surprise, as long as they haven't used all of their Oops! Students may not use an Oops! on missing math homework.
